There are 4 major ways to cancel power of attorney, although we only recommend 3 of them considering the fourth way could be problematic.
1. Authorizing a Power of Attorney Form Revocation - This is a standard Power of Attorney Form revocation that is accepted in all 50 states. Simply fill-in-the-blanks and your previous power of attorney is cancelled.
2. Authorizing a new Power of Attorney Form - This is another common way, but this usually happens because the principal wants to change the agent or attorney-in-fact.
3. Destroying the Power of Attorney Form - If you have the original and all the copies, then you can just throw it away.
4. Death - This is not the most popular way, but it is a way to cancel a power of attorney form.
